Meet Our Executive Director

A Message from Our Executive Director

Dear Friends, Partners, and Supporters,

Over the past decade, Orphans Concern has journeyed alongside some of the most vulnerable children in our communities, standing as a pillar of hope, protection, and opportunity. From the early days of our work to our emergency responses during the Ebola outbreak and the COVID-19 pandemic, we have remained committed to one mission: ensuring that orphaned and vulnerable children are not forgotten.

Today, we support 48 orphanages and family-based caregivers, serving hundreds of children across Liberia. Through 12 in-depth projects with 12 partner orphanages, we’ve worked to improve the quality of care, strengthen child protection, and build safer, more nurturing environments.

We’ve also expanded our reach through our Adult Empowerment Program, equipping caregivers and transitioning youth with vocational training, life skills, and financial literacy to foster long-term independence and dignity.

Our Core Programs: Still Strong, Still Growing

As we grow and evolve, I want to emphasize this: we are maintaining and strengthening our core programs, which remain at the heart of our mission.

These include:

Service Saturday – A hands-on day of service where volunteers help clean, organize, and support orphanage facilities—promoting dignity and a sense of shared community.

Mentoring Service & Outreach – A powerful initiative that combines recreational activities, games, mentorship, and relationship-building to help children grow emotionally, socially, and spiritually.

My Space – A specialized program for girls in orphanages, focusing on hygiene, health, confidence, leadership development, and reproductive education—empowering them to understand and own their self-worth.

Orphan Sunday – A movement to engage churches in our work, calling on faith-based communities to support, pray for, and stand with orphaned children and their caregivers.

These core initiatives are not only vital—they are life-changing. And they will continue to be a priority as we move into the next chapter of our work.

Looking Ahead: Building Stronger Futures

In addition to our existing programs, we are excited to launch two new strategic focus areas:

Institutional Strengthening – Helping orphanages and community-based care providers enhance their management, sustainability, and service delivery.

Adult Transition Program – Providing critical support for young adults aging out of orphanages, with access to education, skills training, housing, and mentorship as they step into independent life.
