The exercise began on Monday August 4-6 2025 was to evaluate the living conditions, safety standards, and overall well-being of children residing in these facilities. The assessment is part of the Government of Liberiaโs and Partners ongoing efforts to strengthen child protection mechanisms, ensure compliance with national childcare standards, and hold institutions accountable for the care and rights of vulnerable children under their supervision.

Orphans Concern as the Leader in Orphans Advocacy in Liberia Was Amongst 3 Child Protection Organizations tasked with the responsibility to assess 28 orphanages across the county.

Key focus areas included Nutrition, health services, Education access, Facility hygiene, safety,Staffing, caregiving practices Documentation and registration compliance. The goal was to ensure that all children living in institutional care are in environments that are safe, nurturing, and aligned with both national policies and international child rights frameworks. The findings from the assessment will inform policy adjustments, future support interventions.
