Over the weekend our Team Visited Omega Orphanage In Bomi County To Dedicate A Latrine To Students And Orphans At The Orphanage.
What makes this project special is that before this latrine the children used the bushes to ease themselves. Just before our visit 2 students were attacked by honey bees and had to run through the bush for safety. When they told us about the need for a latrine we thought doing this would change the lives of over 100 students attending the school from the community and orphans in the orphanage. Over the weekend there were smiles and tears of joy as we dedicated the latrine and provided sweets for the children under a heavy downpour of rain, but the rain was a sign that the children’s lives would be changed for a long time. The Latrine has Three Compartments For Boys, Girls, and Staff With A Flush Commode In Each. The project Commode was installed by girls in our empowerment program.
It was so exciting when we asked the kids to put their hands in the paint and paste it on the wall as a sign of owning this project. Every child dipped their hand in the paint and pasted it on the wall as a sign of remembrance.
